The Speed Run: Five Hangers Against the Clock
Put a ball in the jaws of five pockets and run them all as fast as you can. Time it with your phone and try to beat your record.
White dashes: cue ball path. Yellow dashes: object ball path.
Setup
- Put a ball in the jaws of five pockets and the cue ball near the middle of the table.
- Start the timer on your phone.
How to shoot it
- Shoot each hanger in any order. Use soft speed so the cue ball stays near the middle.
- Don't rush the stroke itself. Speed comes from deciding quickly and walking straight to the next shot.
Why it works
Hangers can't be missed if you hit them, so the challenge is rhythm and cue ball control: every shot leaves you in place for the next one.
Common mistakes
- Hitting too hard and scratching. A scratch adds 10 seconds.
- Walking around the table more than you need to. Plan the order before you start.
In a real game
It is a fun warm-up, and it trains the quick, decisive routine that helps under tournament pressure.
